Theresa Gourlay is originally from Dundee but lived in Fife for thirty years, initially in Aberdour before moving to Strathmiglo, Falkland and finally Freuchie. She has worked at Forgan Arts Centre in Newport for six years and recently moved to Dundee to be closer to Forgan.
Eighteen months ago she joined the print workshop at the Dundee Contemporary Arts in Dundee and fell in love with printmaking again. This exhibition is a selection of monoprints from that journey.
Theresa says “Monoprints can be made in all sorts of ways; they are special
because each one is unique. Mostly the prints here are made by inking up a plate, placing leaves or fabric or cut paper on top, then transferring the image onto paper by putting through the press, I repeat and adapt the process until I feel it is finished. The landscape changing round every corner, the colours!” For more information about Theresa and her work please visit her website which also has links to her social media.
This is a free exhibition but please support our work by visiting the Stables Shop for a browse or the café for coffee and a cake.
