ARABLE

DON’T JUDGE EACH DAY BY THE HARVEST YOU REAP BUT THE SEEDS THAT YOU PLANT.
Robert Louis Stevenson

With 750 acres of land in active use for organic farming, we produce around 300 tonnes of organic crop per year on Falkland Estate’s organic home farm. Using some of what we grow to feed cattle, we also supply organic barley to local and Scottish breweries, oats for cereal bars and beans for animal feed.

ORCHARD

In 2013, Falkland Estate planted the current organic apple orchard with 4 varieties of apple. The tradition of apple growing on Falkland Estate dates back in history with the original orchards being lost over time. With this tradition re-established, apples grown are pressed for juice and cider.
