Back by popular demand! With limited availability – book to bag one of a limited number of spaces.

Join us on this rare opportunity to be part of a small private guided group as you walk the site of an ancient hillfort.  Enjoy the view from the the summit of East Lomond, as you hear first-hand of the ancient history of one of Fife’s most iconic hills.

You will be guided by Joe Fitzpatrick, Chairman of the Falkland Stewardship Trust, who was also the Project Director for the archaeological excavations on East Lomond in 2017, 2019 and 2022, and most recently in July this year.  Joe will reveal aspects of the landscape and share the insights of the archaeological excavations which are helping piece together the story of this significant site in Fife’s history.

Meet at the East Lomond Mast Car Park for the start of the guided walk.

Enjoy a coffee/tea and scone back at the renovated stables building on Falkland Estate after your walk.

After a 2-hour walk – at a comfortable pace (which will require a reasonable degree of fitness to be enjoyed) – join your guide and fellow participants back at the Falkland Estate for tea or coffee and a cake!
